Volcano Boarding

This is one of the most popular tours in Central-America, so you might have heard about it... We will take you to Cerro Negro, the world's most active cilinder volcano. And you are gonna slide down on your volcano board. Sounds crazy? It is! 

You will be picked up at the hostel and go to office, where you will get more info and your free t-shirt. After this we'll drive you to the volcano in about 45 minutes. You will hike up in about 45-60 minutes, which is easy.

Once up there you will enjoy great views of the surrounding area, walk around the crater and learn a bit more about volcanoes. Jump suit, goggles, gloves check? This means you are ready to start the adventure! You can reach speeds up to 90km/h.

Once all the action is over, we think you have deserved a nice cold beer right? Around 2pm the tour is finished and you'll be back in the hostel once again.

Telica Overnight Hike

Do you have a little bit more time and are you looking for a lot more adventure? The Telica Overnight hike might be the perfect hike for you! This two-day hike is of mediocre dificulty, but will offer really awesome views. An experience you won't forget.

 

The 4x4 will drive you for about 1 hour to the bottom of the Telica Volcano, you won't see it yet... You are in for a suprise! The first hour you will be hiking through the countryside and steadily increase in height. Make sure to bring enough water, because you will be thirsty. The second hour is when the actual climbing starts, this is the most difficult hour of the hike. Don't worry, you can take as many breaks as you like. This is an adventure, not a race.

The third and final hour of hiking is pretty flat, thank god! Make sure to collect some firewood for the bonfire later that night. Once you make it through the forrested aread, there she is..... The Telica Volcano, what a beast! Once you'll make to the grass field it's time to setup camp.

All the camping gear and food in included in this trip, but you do have to carry it yourself. You will visit a batcave, see an amazing sunset, sleep under the stars, enjoy a bonfire, wake up with the sunrise and make some new friends. After the sunset and breakfast it's time to pack-up everything and head down again. The walk back to the 4x4 is about 2,5 hours. You have done it... Camping on a very active volcano!

el Hoyo Combo Package

After reading about some of the tours we offer you cannot decide about what to do? Stop doubting and book this great combo package. It's a 2 day adventure which is full of adventure, views, sweat and sunsets.

First on the list is Cerro Negro, this is where we will go Volcano Boarding. When the rest of the group goes home, your adventure is just getting started. The next volcano you'll hike is Las Pillas and is of medium difficulty, the first hour of the hike is steep and difficult. After that is pretty easy and you can enjoy the area that you are in. Once we have climbed this volcano we are moving on to the next one, el Hoyo.

This is also the place where we will stop to setup our tents and eventually spend the night. Once the tents are ready, we will go to the absolute summit at 1050 meters. From here you will get to see one of the best sunsets in your life. You will see all the volcanoes ligned-up Cerro Negro, Telica, San Cristobal.... wow!

The next morning you will have another amazing surprise waiting for you. You will have a first class seat to enjoy the sun rising up over the Momotombo volcano in Lake Managua, it doesn't get much better than this! Time to pack up everything and move on, next destination Asososca Lagoon. Afterwards you will be a very satisfied traveler!
